Run Till The World Explodes
Hi, this is an improved version of the game I submitted for the 2026 GMTK Game Jam.
You can find the original jam submission here.
I am still learning and this was only my second jam, so helpful advice is very welcome ! Also, I am learning game dev full-time so if you have one or two dollars to spare and want to support me I'll be very happy.
Gameplay
[AD] ([QD] if you're on azerty): move.
[R]: respawn.
[N]: close dialogue (I advise you not to do it if you haven't played the game before).
[TAB]: pause + see unlocked key bindings.
Story
A strange mage tells you you have to be quick or the world will explode, and a count-down starts.
You find a magic trinket that allows you to go back a small amount of time back in the past whenever you die or are in a bad position.
There's also a 2.5 sec' count-down whenever you fall because well, you're just human and long falls kill, just FYI.
What can you do / not do with this game ?
- You can share the game for free as long as you mention me (SystemK), possibly with a link to my Itch.io page or this game's Itch page.
- You can feature the game in your videos (YouTube, Twitch, etc).
- You cannot resell the game, a modified version, modified parts or an adaptation.
- You cannot use this game nor its contents to train AI.
Many thanks to GDQuest:
- For the course that helped me build this first platformer.
- For the shaders library.
